We all know that proper ventilation is important. However, sometimes it can be difficult to find the right solution because there are so many possibilities. Nedco has a range of over 2500 ventilation products, for instance. Because of this huge number of options, we will focus on several categories in this blog. This blog is about wall and roof ducts:
A popular solution to provide an exhaust to kitchen ventilation is by using wall ducts. Wall duct sets consist of three parts. First, there is the duct connector with check valve and cover plate. This covers the wall and the hole in the wall properly.
The duct connector is connected to a telescopic duct that goes through the wall. Using a telescopic duct makes this duct set suitable for several wall widths. Finally, there is the outdoor air vent. This also comes with several possibilities. For example, there is a choice of several bull nose grilles, paddle grilles and cowl vents.
Beside the wall duct sets described above, you can also opt for the EcoStar wall duct units. These stainless steel wall ducts are mechanical exhaust wall vents that are adjusted to the specific volumetric flow rate of the extractor. The EcoStar wall duct units are provided with conductor paddles, which optimise air flow.

Flue gas ducts are suitable for gasses with higher temperatures and therefore require other roof terminals than normal ventilation ducts. Flue gas ducts are connected to, amongst others, fireplaces, boilers and pellet stoves. Beside our extensive assortment of flue gas ducts, we have two types of elastic roof ducts which are both heat resistant. These not only drain flue gas ducts into open air correctly, but also guarantee that the roof is watertight. The advantages of both possibilities are explained below:
Apart from flue gas ducts, also other ventilation ducts running through the house sometimes head out via the roof. Think of drains of mechanical ventilation systems.
Nedco offers several solutions for this too. For instance, Nedco has ventilation roof ducts that are available in two sizes: 100mm and 125mm. Both ventilation roof ducts are made of polypropylene. The advantage of polypropylene is its superb quality and, consequently, its immunity to diverse weather types.
However, ventilation roof ducts are not sufficient on their own. Therefore, Nedco also offers several solutions to make a roof duct watertight. Every solution has its own advantages.
